Avalon Pharma Pvt Ltd are suppliers and exporters of Gutron (Midodrine), available in 2.5mg & 5mg strength.
Gutron contains midodrine, the prodrug for desglymidodrine, a potent alpha agonist and vasopressor (increases blood pressure) used to treat orthostatic hypotension to raise blood pressure.
The body's nervous system is responsible for this type of hypotension. Gutron (Midodrine) is administered in those cases where the response to other therapy is not adequate.
Gutron (Midodrine) is also used where hypotension is a consequence of other medical disorders such as diabetes or Parkinson's disease.
Hypotension is low blood pressure. It is a measure of the blood pressing on the artery walls. This pressure helps move your blood around your body. You have hypotension when your blood pressure stays lower than normal. Gutron (Midodrine) may increase your blood pressure by constricting the walls of your blood vessels.
Orthostatic hypotension is caused by pooling of blood in the lower extremities, which happens when lying or sitting; on standing this slows down the return of blood to the heart and thereby reduces blood volume pumped out of the heart, which reduces the flow of blood to the brain and other parts of the body. Normally, signals are sent by the autonomic nervous system from baroreceptors in the blood vessel walls, which detect changes in blood pressure. This triggers the release of neurotransmitters like noradrenaline that counteract the effect of low blood pressure by stimulating increased heart rate, cardiac output and constriction of blood vessels, which increases blood pressure.
