Canmab (generic Herclon Trastuzumab) is used in the treatment of breast cancer and stomach cancer. Canmab (generic Herclon Trastuzumab) is in a class of drugs called monoclonal antibodies. Some types of breast and stomach cancer contain an excess amount of a protein called HER2, which the malignant cells require to grow and multiply.

Canmab (generic Herclon Trastuzumab) is one of the first targeted therapies used to treat breast cancer. It specifically attacks, kills off, or stops the growth of cells that make too much of a protein called HER2/neu—and it leaves most normal cells alone.

Canmab (generic Herclon Trastuzumab) is approved to be used alone or with other drugs to treat:

1. Adenocarcinoma of the stomach or gastroesophageal junction. Canmab (generic Herclon Trastuzumab) is used for HER2 positive (HER2+) disease that has metastasized (spread to other parts of the body) in patients who have not already been treated for metastatic cancer.
